TRAVERSE CITY — The Traverse City Beach Bums could have used some of those 12 runs they scored Wednesday night.

After plating a run in the first inning, Rockford's Mike Lee and Cody Hallahan shut the Beach Bums down over the final eight innings Thursday en route to a 4-1 Frontier League win at Wuerfel Park. Hallahan, who worked the final five innings, earned the win.

Jacob Clem (1-2) had a strong outing for Traverse City. He went seven innings, allowing two unearned runs on three hits.

Jeff Flagg's RBI single in the first accounted for the lone Beach Bums run. Traverse City had its four-game win streak snapped.

Matt Greener doubled in two runs in the fourth to give the RiverHawks the lead. Rockford added two more unearned runs in the eighth off reliever Sam Brown.

The Beach Bums, who won the first two games in the series, finished with eight hits, three by Ryan Still and two by Flagg.

The Beach Bums host Evansville for three games, starting tonight.
