Bums now one games behind East-leading Lake Erie

TRAVERSE CITY — The rollercoaster ride of the Traverse City Beach Bums continued Saturday as the Bums topped Noral 5-2 at Wuerfel Park for their second straight win.
Prior to their current streak Traverse City had lost six straight.
Mike Devine (6-2) got the win for Traverse City, going 5.2 innings, allowing four hits and two runs. Chris Squires and Matt Miller blanked the Cornbelters over the last 3.1 innings.
Traverse City overcame an early 2-0 deficit with a three-run fourth inning, then added two insurance runs in the eighth.
Sean Gusrang went 2-for-4 with an RBI coming on a solo home run. Scott Woodward went 1-for-4 with two RBIs and Matt Howard went 1-for-3 with an RBI.
The two teams complete their series today at 5 p.m. at Wuerfel Park. Jake Sabol (8-5) will start for Traverse City (49-37), which is only one game behind Lake Erie for first in the East Division.
