TRAVERSE CITY — Kyle Maunus strikes again.
For the second straight night, the former Beach Bum had the winning hit in extra innings for Joliet. On Tuesday, it was a solo home run in the 12th inning for a 7-6 Slammers win at Wuerfel Park.
Joliet came all the way back from a 6-0 deficit in the third inning for the win.
After the Maunus homer, Traverse City put a runner on in the bottom of the 12th when Ryan Still reached on a single, but fly out and a fielder's choice ended the inning.
Jason Matilla took the loss despite a strong outing in relief. He gave up the run on four hits with four strikeouts in 4.1 innings of work.
Jeff Flagg and Sean Gusrang homered for the Beach Bums. Gusrang also singled and doubled.
Traverse City heads to Windy City for a three-game set today.
