Bums rally for 7-6 win

EVANSVILLE, Ind. — Traverse City rallied with three runs in the eighth inning Tuesday for a 7-6 win at Evansville.

The Otters led 5-1 after five innings before the Beach Bums closed within a run with a three-run sixth. Then in the eighth, Traverse City went up 7-5 with three more runs.

Evansville scored a run in the bottom of the eighth and threatened in the ninth inning with two on and two out, but Taylor Black grounded to second base to end the game.

Kyle Eveland had a big night for Traverse City, going 3-for-5 with a double, a home run, four RBIs and three runs scored. Ryan Still and Marcus Nidiffer also had three hits.

Scott Dunn earned the win by pitching a perfect seventh inning. Matt Miller earned the save.

The teams meet again today at 7:30 p.m.
