TRAVERSE CITY —
Home, sweet home.
After getting swept in a three-game series at Rockford, Traverse City returned home on Sunday and got back on track with a 10-6 win over Joliet.
The Slammers came back to make it interesting with three runs in the seventh inning to cut the Beach Bums lead to 7-5. Traverse City put it away in the bottom of the eighth with three runs — one on a wild pitch, another on a Ryan Still RBI and the third on a Jose Vargas sacrifice.
Vargas homered and drove in two while Still also had two hits.
Bennett Whitmore got the win in six innings with four earned runs on six hits and two walks.
