Beach Bums add three home dates

The Traverse City Beach Bums added three more home games to their 2010 schedule.....more>>

  • Beach Bums trade McArthur for pitcher
The Traverse City Beach Bums traded infielder Brandon McArthur to the Joliet Jackhammers of the Northern League for right-handed pitcher Michael Moore.

  • Bums plan overhaul of 2010 roster
Manager Gregg Langbehn will be back, but that may be about all that's familiar with next year's edition of the Traverse City Beach Bums. After a disappointing season that saw only three Frontier League teams finish with a worse record than the Beach Bums, a shake-up is on the way.

  • Bums announce ticket packages, promotions
Entertainment options outside of the white lines will be a bit different next year at Traverse City Beach Bums games, as will season ticket prices.

  • Bums drop season finale, K'zoo claims East
Kalamazoo celebrated a Frontier League East Division title at Wuerfel Park Sunday with a win over Traverse City. The Beach Bums finished the season 42-53 while the Kings won the division by a game over Lake Erie with a 58-38 mark.

  • Kings close to clinching
Kalamazoo used four multi-run innings to defeat the Traverse City Beach Bums 9-6 on Friday. The win reduces the Kings magic number to one in the Eastern Division.

  • Sliders complete sweep
The Traverse City Beach Bums scored four runs in their three-game Frontier League series with the Midwest Sliders of Ypsilanti. Not surprisingly, the Beach Bums lost all three.

  • Sliders make it two in a row
The job Midwest's P.J. Zocchi was called to do Tuesday was something he's become quite familiar with. The Sliders turned to Zocchi in the seventh inning to get them out of a jam -- and to do it against a former teammate.

  • Ypsilanti shuts down Bums' bats
Jon Haldis looked like he was at home back in Wuerfel Park. The former Traverse City Beach Bums pitcher started and threw two hitless innings before giving way to Ypsilanti Sliders teammate Adam Dominick in a 5-2 win over Traverse City.

  • Beach Bums sweep Lake Erie
The Traverse City Beach Bums turned solid pitching and timely hitting into a doubleheader sweep of the Lake Erie Crushers at Wuerfel Park on Sunday.

  • Bums rained out again
Rain continues to play havoc in the Traverse City Beach Bums-Lake Erie Crushers series.

  • Rainout forces twinbill for Bums
A doubleheader is slated for today after Friday's Traverse City Beach Bums game was rained out.

  • Bums get crowned by Kings
The Traverse City Beach Bums' final road game of the season ended like many of their other ones -- with a loss.

  • Bums bounce back with four-run sixth
Traverse City only scored in one inning Wednesday night. But that was enough as the Beach Bums defeated Kalamazoo in a Frontier League game at Homer Stryker Field.

  • Kings top Beach Bums in the 9th
Josh Short singled in the winning run in the bottom of the ninth Tuesday night to lift the Kalamazoo Kings to a Frontier League win over the Traverse City Beach Bums.

  • Beach Bums fall in 11th
B.J. Hagen had thrown nearly three perfect innings of relief. The fourth wasn't as perfect for Traverse City.

  • Late Bums: Nathanson blanks the Rascals
David Nathanson threw his first career complete-game shutout as the Traverse City Beach Bums blanked River City 6-0 Saturday night. Nathanson limited the Rascals to just four hits and struck out four in nine innings to improve his record to 6-9 on the season.

  • Rascals sneak by Bums 6-2
Ryan Wehrle belted a three-run homer in the first inning Friday night to spark the River City Rascals to a 6-2 Frontier League win over the Traverse City Beach Bums.

  • Gateway topples Traverse City
Charlie Lisk and Brandon Johnson drove in three runs each for Gateway in a win over the Traverse City Beach Bums.

  • Alonso hits for cycle, Bums win
Gateway didn't walk John Alonso this time around, and instead of a brawl, the Grizzlies received a loss. Alonso, who was involved in a fight after being walked twice on eight pitches when Gateway visited Traverse City last Thursday, hit for the cycle in a Beach Bums victory.
