Area players are 'Reaching Higher'

EAST LANSING -- A number of area high school basketball players will take part in the inaugural Reaching Higher Experiences, which is designed for those with aspirations to play the game collegiately.

The girls session will take place on Sunday at South Lyon High School. The boys session will be April 26 at Brighton High School.

The Reaching Higher Experience will have classroom sessions for student-athletes and their parents; as well as on-court drills, testing and scrimmaging. College basketball coaches will be in attendance at these sessions.

Area girls participating will be Emily Ellison, TC West; Stephanie Fisher, Johannesburg-Lewiston; Katie Knudsen, TC Central; and Allie Nave, Onaway.

Area boys participating will be Dwaun Anderson, Suttons Bay; Trevor Closs, Cheboygan; Nick Hancock, Cheboygan; Tim Jensen, Manistee; Julius Moss, TC West; Dylan Roe, TC Central; Travis Schuba, Kalkaska; Ian Sheldon, Traverse City St. Francis; and Cory Starkey, Petoskey.
