Team owner/general manager Daniel Skibbe said the Wolves plan to help with the fund raising efforts to refurbish Thirlby Field, where the team hopes to play its home games. The summer-league team plans to hold an open tryout on April 5, 2008. Entry fee is $35. Sign-up instructions can be found at the team's Web site at www.tcwolves.com. Table tennis tourney slated for Dec. 15 WILLIAMSBURG -- The first table tennis tournament at the new Hayden Table Tennis Training Center will be held Saturday, Dec. 15. Ten divisions are available: 12-and-under, 15-under, 18-under, 40-under, 55-over, 65-over, 18-under doubles, 55-over douubles, open singles and open doubles. Entry fees range from $7-10. Tucker Byl ski scholarship available TRAVERSE CITY -- A Tucker Byl Memorial Ski Scholarship has been established to help youth skiers with race fees and lift tickets at Mt. Holiday this winter. The scholarship was established through contributions from friends and family of Byl, who raced at Traverse City Central for three seasons (2005-07). He also coached the 0-7 age group at Mt. Holiday in 2006 and '07. Scholarships will be awarded by a panel of three Holiday Race Team board members based on individual economic need. Winter WonderFest set for Feb. 15-18 TRAVERSE CITY -- The second annual Cherry Capital Winter WonderFest will be held over President's Day weekend, Feb. 15-18, at the Grand Traverse Resort and Spa and in downtown Traverse City. Dozens of activities are planned -- including a running race, ice skating, pony rides, broom ball, fireworks and a Loverboy concert at the Resort -- with a portion of proceeds going to Special Olympics Michigan.
