TRAVERSE CITY — Dick and Hedy Rewalt of Traverse City celebrated their diamond wedding anniversary on Thursday, April 18, 2013.
Dick Rewalt and Hedy Zettler were married on April 18, 1953, at Assumption Grotto Church in Detroit.They started married life in New Orleans, where Mr. Rewalt was stationed with the U.S. Navy. The couple returned to the Detroit area four years later, where they lived and worked in the Detroit suburbs. Starting in 1972, the family spent summers in Traverse City. After retirement in 1998, the Rewalts settled permanently up north.
Mr. Rewalt was a CPA and a partner at Godfrey Hammel, Danneels & Co. PC, in St. Clair Shores, Mich., for 41 years. Mrs. Rewalt was a homemaker and a stay-at-home mother.
The couple raised five children, Sandi (Gary) Galopin, Scott (Pam) Rewalt, Steve (Mary Kay) Rewalt, Shari (Ed) Aziz, and Staci (Steve) Rewalt-Kolasa. They also have 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
