BELLAIRE — Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Sexton of Bellaire enjoyed a private celebration for their golden wedding anniversary hosted by their children on Nov. 16, 2013, at Boone’s Long Lake Inn.
Stanley Sexton and the former Laura Maltby were married on Nov. 16, 1963, in Saginaw County by the Justice of the Peace. Mr. Sexton retired as a teacher from Bellaire High School in 2000. He currently is head coach for the Bellaire Eagles boys’ varsity basketball team.
Mrs. Sexton retired in December 2012 after 40 years of service to Antrim County, including 32 years as the Antrim County Clerk. She also remains active serving on the Bellaire Village Council and in the Bellaire Lioness Club.
The Sextons have lived in the Grand Traverse area for more than 70 years.
The couple’s children are Angela (James) Rabb of South Lyon, Mich., Victoria Sexton of Williamsburg, and Rebecca Sexton of St. Thomas, Virgin Islands. They also have three grandchildren.
