Olson 45th

TRAVERSE CITY — Mr. and Mrs. Bob Olson of Traverse City observed their 45th wedding anniversary on Saturday, July 6, 2013.

Bob Olson and Vivian Johnson were married on July 6, 1968, at St. Francis Catholic Church in Traverse City. The Rev. Louis Van Bergen officiated at the ceremony.

Mr. Olson worked for AT & T for 383/4 years as a repair/splicer and retired in 2008. He also was one of the first members of the East Bay Fire & Rescue Department. He has lived in the Grand Traverse area for 66 years. Mrs. Olson worked for East Bay Charter Township as deputy clerk for eight years and retired in 2007. She is a 65-year resident of the Grand Traverse area. For 28 years, Bob and Viv organized the yearly pancake breakfast for the fire department. They enjoy traveling.

The couple’s children are Gregg McFarlyn of Manhattan, N.Y., Brian (Julie) Olson of Odenton, Md., and Julie Lake of Traverse City. They also have two grandsons and one great-grandson.
