TRAVERSE CITY — Mr. and Mrs. Ray Purvis of Traverse City observed their 65th wedding anniversary on Aug. 25, 2013. They were guests of honor at a private party at the Outback restaurant in Traverse City.
Ray Purvis and the former Bethel Rosenburg were married on Aug. 25, 1948, in Traverse City. The Rev. Charles Carnahan performed the ceremony.
Mr. Purvis retired from Traverse City Area Public Schools as custodian supervisor. Mrs. Purvis is a homemaker. They have lived in Traverse City their entire married life.
The couple’s children are Barb Rogusta of Portage, Mich., Janet Purvis of Mesick, and Geri (Rick) Worm of Beulah. They also have eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
