---- — TRAVERSE CITY — Jay and Sally Beery celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary with a two-week vacation to Negril, Jamaica. They will celebrate locally with family and friends in the coming weeks.
Jay D. Beery and the former Sally Ann Weber were married at a special site on the Boardman River on June 23, 1973, surrounded by family and close friends. Pastor Larry Beaverson performed the ceremony.
Mr. Beery recently retired from Northwestern Michigan College after 30 years as an instructor in computer aided drafting and design and related courses in manufacturing technologies.
He also worked many summers and continues to work part-time for Forkardt Inc.
Mrs. Beery retired from Idea Stream as a secretary/bookkeeper and also was employed at Traverse City Area Public Schools for 10 years.
The couple have two sons living in Traverse City, Joshua (Lily) Beery and Zachary (Shannon) Beery; and a stepson, Alan Fuller, of Ludington. They also have five grandchildren.
