Rosa 50th

TRAVERSE CITY — Mr. and Mrs. Billy H. Rosa of Traverse City observed their golden wedding anniversary on Oct. 26, 2013. They celebrated the milestone on Oct. 27, 2013, at a private party for relatives and friends at Boone’s Restaurant.

Billy H. Rosa and the former Karen Haywood were married on Oct. 26, 1963, at Central United Methodist Church in Traverse City. Mr. Rosa grew up in Lake Ann and Mrs. Rosa has lived her entire life in Long Lake Township, where the couple have lived for 50 years.

Mr. Rosa was an employee and owner of Long Lake Gravel Service from 1962 until the mid-1980s. He retired from Elmer’s in 2005. Mr. Rosa developed the Wheelock Farm Site Condominium in 2006.

Mrs. Rosa worked in the office of Long Lake Gravel from 1965 until the mid-1980s. She worked in the Long Lake Township office for four years and has been supervisor of Long Lake Township for the past 25 years. She currently is in her seventh four-year term as township supervisor.

The couple’s children are Kim and Harold Clark and Lori and Dana Cederquist, all of Long Lake Township; and Kyle and Amy (Poulisse) Rosa and Peter and Jennifer (Carona) Rosa, all of Lake Ann. They also have 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
