TRAVERSE CITY — Mr. and Mrs. James K. Gallagher of Traverse City observed their diamond wedding anniversary on Nov. 23, 2013.
They celebrated with their children and their children’s spouses with a special dinner at Mulligan’s Pub and Grill.
The Gallaghers then welcomed their grandchildren, relatives and friends into their home for a family party.
James Gallagher and the former Patsy Bliss were married on Nov. 23, 1953, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Traverse City. Monsignor Russell Passeno performed the ceremony.
Mr. Gallagher was employed by Michigan Bell Telephone Company for 33 years and retired in 1988.
Mrs. Gallagher is a homemaker and retired from running a day care in 1988. Mr. Gallagher is a lifelong area resident. Mrs. Gallagher is a long-time area resident. Together they have lived in the Grand Traverse area for 60 years.
The couple’s children are Michael (Linda) Gallagher, Kay (David) Ingraham and Donald (Colleen) Gallagher, all of Traverse City; Rose Douglas of Boyne City; and Karen (Lee) Bishop of Holland, Mich. They also have 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
