Cherry Golf Scramble

Family friendly nine hole course. Prizes will be awarded. Tee times need to will be reserved in "foursomes". Cost to play is per person and payment will be due at the time of play. To reserve your "foursome", contact Bay Meadow's at 231-946-7927. Bay Meadows Golf Course, 5220 Barney Road.

Kids Sand Sculpture Contest

Competitions for all ages. Ages 3 to 5 at 9-9:45 a.m. Ages 6 to 8 at 9:15-10:00 a.m. Ages 9 to 12 - 10:15-11:15 a.m. Groups with ages 3 to 12 - 10:30 a.m.-noon. Register 15 minutes before the start of each category. Only items found on the beach may be used in the decoration of the sculpture with the exception of food coloring. No fee. Senior Center Beach, 801 E. Front St.

Cherry Connection: Bringing Together Festival, Farm, and Fruit

Join Michigan State University Extension at 100-acre research farm in Leelanau County. Guided orchard tours, kids events, exhibits and samples of cherry products. Cherry Connection Shuttle picks up and drops off on the west side of the Traverse City Visitor’s Center on Garland Street every half hour from 9:30 a.m. until noon. At Northwest Michigan Horticultural Research Center, 6686 S. Center Highway.

Cherry Idol Auditions

Competition is broken into divisions of adult, young adult ages 15-17, teen ages 12-14 and youth ages 8-11. Participants required to sing a song of their choice, without any background music for the preliminary auditions. If chosen to move onto the final round, competitors must be prepared to perform a different song of their choice. The final round will be sung to background music. Pre-registration is required. Event runs until 4 p.m.

Diaper Derby and Toddler Trot

Competitions of baby and toddler trotting. Register 9-9:45 a.m. Open to kids ages 3 and under. F&M Park, 201 Railroad Ave.

DTE Energy Green Day

Visitors will learn about renewable energy products, energy efficiency and sustainable living options and more. Festival Open Space Park North at Grandview Parkway and Union Street.
