"The profound honor to which Mr. Hannah is held by the little children of Traverse City was shown in a striking manner the other day. Just before Columbus day the teacher in one of the primary rooms of the public schools asked the scholars who discovered America. There was dead silence for a moment, when one of the little tots, about a tall as a chipmunk, raised her hand and piped out, "Perry Hannah!" It is needless to say that this amendment to American history has been duly recorded in the annals of our school."
