The Pere Marquette railroad has installed a new system for handling fruit that comes in on the boats this summer that will save a lot of handling and expedite the shipment during the rush season. Hon. Edwin S. Pratt died at his home, "Hillcrest", in this city last Monday. Mr. Pratt had been in failing health for two or three years but had been able to continue his office work, in some measure. Mr. Pratt was a brilliant lawyer, public spirited, a useful citizen of Traverse City and a respected pioneer. Death was due to toxemia.Continued ...
