n STONE PILE ESTABLISHED near county jail. Prisoners will work on it to keep them busy during the winter. The cracked stone will be hauled to various City projects.

n NEW PILING will be placed at the South Union Street Bridge. The cost will be $200 and will remove an eye sore.

n ALL STABLE REFUSE must be placed in a container with a hinged lid. This will stop the contents from becoming a breeding place for flies and becoming a menace for the neighborhoods. A debate ensued and the matter was turned over to the Department of Public Safety.

n JONATHAN APPLES IN HIGH DEMAND. The apples are in high demand because of their deep color and rich flavor.

n A DOUBLE WEDDING was held at Immaculate Conception Church with the marriages of Stephen Winowiecki and Alida Dalzell along with John Miller and Mary Winowiecki. The happy couples and guests were taken to the Winowiecki home where an evening of dining and dancing was held.

n OAK PARK MOTHERS present a strong program on the home and what it should mean to children. Various topics about manners, housework and how the home affects the child’s future.

n EVERYONE IS DIGGING POTATOES and school is closed for vacation. A Potato Digging Bee was held by twenty five of Fred Robinson’s neighbors. He had been ill and was very pleasantly surprised by his neighbor’s kindness.

n A SERIOUS ACCIDENT was narrowly averted last night when an automobile and a buggy collided. The automobile hit the horse drawn vehicle from the rear and frightened the horse. The animal ran along Eighth St., but was soon stopped. No one was injured.
